The leaves of this species may be completely green, as is this one, or they may be spotted (Engler & Kraus, 1920).

Engler & Kraus (1920) give the distribution of this species as Columbia. This plant, however, was collected in Ecuador (Limón via El Pescado, elevation 1216m, Prov. Moron Santiago) by Lynn Hannon.
